About Erica

I’m Erica Manney. My full-time day job is Marketing Manager for an education company. I specialize in social media. The rest of the time I hang out with my dog Eva, my boyfriend Frank and a great group of talented, funny, nerdy friends. Some are famous vegan cookbook authors, some are indie role-playing game designers, some are fashion designers, photographers, attorneys, special event coordinators, marketing professionals and archaeologists.

I’ve always been the girl you go to when you aren’t sure what to do. How do you approach your co-worker to tell her that if she doesn’t lower her speakers you are going to poke out her eardrums. And what do you do if that co-worker is your boss’ daughter? I’ve helped out friends with countless situations from “what do you bring to you new boyfriend’s house for dinner” to “Do you brush your teeth before a dentist visit?”

My Qualifications.

Disclaimer: I have no formal training in … anything, really. I am not a doctor, lawyer, social worker, dentist, psychologist, psychiatrist, dog behaviorist or air conditioner repairwoman. Here’s what I do have going for me:

• An obsession with advice columns. Dear Abby, Carolyn Hax, Ann Landers, Miss Manners, Ask Heloise, Savage Love, Suze Orman, The Ethicist – you name it, I have it on my RSS feed.
• I’m one of those people that just seem to find themselves in those weird situations that you couldn’t possibly imagine. I usually get myself out of them – with a smile and a story to tell.
• I was an Anthropology major. That has to count for something, right?
